Exhaust Racking

Two methods of storing exhausts have evolved in the UK – stacking and hanging.

The benefit of stacking exhaust units in a compartment realises a smaller capital outlay on the storage system, but selectivity, damage to exhausts and identification are severely hampered.

In contrast to this, the hanging system costs more initially, but much faster picking times are achieved due to easy identification and withdrawl from the racking thereby exhaust damage is limited to human error. In addition, the hanging system can be used as support for a Mezzanine Floor structure, offering multi-tier solutions without the requirement for independent steelwork. All the usual Mezzanine Floor accessories can be built in, i.e. handrail above ground floor level and staircases etc. providing additional rent-free storage capacity.

Our Hanging System was jointly developed with a leading UK shelving manufacturer and is currently used by exhaust manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors and factors across the UK.

Wheel and tyre racking

Wheels and Tyres need to be stored in such a fashion to minimise damage to the product, whilst maintaining easy identification for picking purposes. The most widely used method of tyre racking storage is to have the tyre upright, making the product easy to handle upon withdrawl from the racking and the labelling easy to read. A variation on our widespan shelving system achieves this, by supporting the wheel and/or tyre on tubular beams on a reduced depth frame.

As with the exhaust racking described above, the system can be fully integrated into a Mezzanine Floor structure.
