Conveyors can be used in both warehouse and production environments
and can be gravity fed (either horizontal, or inclined) or powered.
The system can be specifically tailored to suit the size, shape and
weight of the loads imposed by your requirements. This may require
the use of slave pallets, platens, or containers, but we could best
advise once your requirements are made known to us. |
Gravity Conveyors
Gravity is a free "power" system which can be utilised to
move boxes, packages or containers from high level to a lower level,
but careful consideration must be given to the type of surface running
along the dynamic components of the conveyor. The dynamics can be
full-width rollers, part-width rollers, skate wheels or flanged wheels
and these can incorporate braking systems, sorting stations, turntables
or general arrest facilities. The dynamic elements of a conveyor system
are used within a racking or longspan shelving system to provide pallet
or carton "Live Storage" installations, proving a first-in-first-out
(FIFO) stock rotation system. Pallets when used in this type of system,
due to the usually heavy loads, travel with potentially damaging impetus
and must be controlled when in motion. Brake rollers and separators
are used to allow the front pallet to be picked from the system without
the imposition of additional loads from accrued pallets behind. Horizontal
systems are used where manual movement of product is required, often
where an accumulation is desired at the end of the system. Modular,
standard units can offer a cost-effective solution and be provided
on an "express" delivery schedule. |

Powered Conveyors
Electric motors impart power to the conveyor system either through
a drum for belt-driven conveyors, lineshaft for roller conveyors,
or a sprocket for chain driven systems. Most powered systems are a
variation of these three types of conveyor. Accumulating conveyors
rely on the continuous movement of the dynamic component(s) and a
physical arrester to allow the product to build up behind before moving
on to the next stage in the system.
Box Lifters
Not strictly a conveyor system - more of a hybrid of a goods lift
and a conveyor. These units are essentially a portable, steeply inclined,
reversible belt conveyor incorporating a series of mechanical stops
against which the product rests. These then push the product along
the length of the conveyor to it's destination. The stops are manufactured
individually and can be designed to accommodate the most complex of
shapes and sizes of product. Commonly used to move product up to Mezzanine
Floor level or off-loading / stuffing vehicles and containers. An
exceedingly economical option to installing a Goods Lift.
